Join In On The Fun!
We are currently recruiting our team of volunteers for this year's upcoming wine festivals. At most festivals, volunteers get free admission, complimentary bottle(s) of wine from The Winery, a souvenir wine glass, and a chance to meet new people while having a FUN time pouring for us. We're the winery that "makes good wine fun" and we're dedicated to ensuring our volunteers have an incredible time at every festival.
If you would like to join the festival team or would like more information on what being a volunteer means please email Caroline Umosella at Caroline@TheWineryAtOlney.com. Click here to see a complete schedule of our 2015 wine festivals.
For the second year in a row, The Winery At Olney has received medals from The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. Six of our wines were awarded the silver medal and 15 were awarded bronze. Of those 21 wines, four were our Oasis Premium Fruit Wines: Peach Chardonnay, Blackberry Merlot, Black Cherry Pinot Noir, and Cranberry Shiraz.
Wineries from all 50 states, 6 Canadian provinces, and 20 countries entered a total of 3,756 different wines in this year’s competition. The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition is the second largest wine competition in the United States.

Come support us for a fun filled evening of wine, food, music, and good times at Women, Wine and Wednesdays. JHB Productions and The Business Social Club LLC have partnered to bring you a wonderful evening. The best part of it all is you'll be there supporting a good cause! The fight against breast cancer.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Edith P. Wright Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. EPW is an all-volunteer Maryland based 501(c)(3) founded in honor of the late Mrs. Edith P. Wright, loving and nurturing wife and mother of four beautiful children, who courageously fought and succumbed to breast cancer at the young age of 39. "Eydie," as she was affectionately known, was full of life and compassion, was incredibly artistic, and had the voice of an angel. The Foundation's programs and activities have been shaped to reflect the essence of Eydie's spirit, style, grace and love of life.

Each year, concerned Montgomery County citizens and animal services officers bring Second Chance Wildlife Center (hyperlink: http://www.scwc.org/) about 3,000 distressed native wild animals — songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, squirrels, groundhogs, chipmunks, bats, rabbits, turtles, and a host of other native species — for medical treatment, attentive care, and release. The mission of Second Chance is to provide compassionate, rehabilitative care to these orphaned, ill, and injured wild animals, and to advise our community on helping animals.
Come raise a glass in support of Second Chance Wildlife Center on Sunday, Sept. 6 from 6-9pm at The Winery at Olney. Members of Second Chance Wildlife Center will be there to answer your questions about what to do when you find a sick or orphaned wildlife animal, and you can learn more about how you can help wildlife in your own backyard!
Tickets to the event include:
- A tasting of 5 wines or one glass of your favorite
- Complimentary small bites and sweet treats
- Access to a silent auction featuring pet items, gift certificates to local restaurants and stores, and other animal-friendly items
- A jewelry and fashion accessories trunk show by Rene Kauder, Associate Director with Stella & Dot, where 20% of sales will be donated
- Learn tips and tricks on how to keep your own backyard safe for wildlife with the Humane Gardener herself, Nancy Lawson. http://www.humanegardener.com/
A portion of proceeds from the sale of each ticket and from each bottle of wine sold at the event will be donated directly to Second Chance Wildlife Center. So come, bring your wild and furry friends (yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome!) and come support Second Chance Wildlife Center! As a non-profit organization, Second Chance Wildlife Center relies on public donations to continue its work. The average cost to rehabilitate a single animal is $75 so know your donation will be put to good use.
